The Toledo Glass and Ceramic Award recognizes distinguished scientific, technical or engineering achievements in glass and ceramics. Mr. Walton was chosen from a field of worthy candidates to receive the 2008 Award. He is retired Chief Scientist, Energy and Materials Laboratory at the Engineering Experiment Station, Georgia Institute of Technology. Among his many accomplishments, he is recognized for his pioneering work on fused silica as a ceramic material. Used today in glass, steel, aerospace, and military applications, it is hard to imagine a world without fused silica. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of the Award presentation and network with others in the glass and ceramic community.
